My name is Damir Trokic, 20 years old, born (1989/09/06) in Bosnian and Herzegovina a beautiful country in the southeast Europe. I came to Sweden, 1995 with my mom Adila, because of the Balkan war… I have lived at Eksjö (a small town near Jönköping) until the summer of 2009. I had to move to Jönköping with my girlfriend Sara because we both were going to start studying at Jönköping International Business School. I study to an Swedish "civil Economist" and Sara to an business lawyer. We live together with our parrot Nemo, the cockatoo Frida and our chihuahua Chicco:)

History about how I started to train, and how I became so strong:
When I was younger I played soccer for the local team in Eksjö. I did that until I was 13 years old. Than I started with a bad habit… I sat at the computer 5-15 h/day for one year’s time. I played games and drank coca-cola all the time. If I went out, it was for a very short while. My weight increased to mighty 120 kg at 15 years. I realized that I had to do something so I started to go out with my friends a lot, and I trained a little bit at home. I also trained kung-fu. After one year when I was 16 my weight was 90 kg. I was proud. Now I wanted to get stronger (I realized on the kung fu training’s that I was very strong) so I thought that a gym would be a good suggestion.
I started to work out at the gym as quickly as I became 16 (September 2005), the first time I benchpressed 90 kg. I had no goals with my training at that time (just to look better and get stronger). Everything that I trained at the gym I did it in 3 sets x 12 repetitions. In august 2006 I got in contact with Jönköpings styrkelyftarklubb (JSK), a powerlifting club. At that time I could benchpress 140 kg. Squat and deadlift was totally new for me, I had never herd of it before… I tried those two exercises but I did not like them. I did some competitions in benchpress 2006. In October I started to train both squat and deadlift …
2007, my training got more serious and I noticed that I could develop, get really strong, and lift heavy weights… I was second on the Swedish sub-juniors championships (total 647,5kg), I still blame the judge, but that is a other story. I was first at the Nordic championships (705 kg) and that gave me a ticket for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in France. I trained hard the whole summer, and that gave some fine results!
September 2007, after only 2 years training (10 mounts squat and deadlift training) I became the Sub-junior WORLD CHAMPION in La Garde, France in class 110 with 4 gold medals. The total result was 750, distributed; squat 290 kg, benchpress, 187.5, deadlift 272.5
The same year I took very many Swedish records. (All in class 110 and 125)
Class 110: Squat: 300, Benchpress: 167.5, Deadlift: 300, Total: 767,5. I had no benchpress shirt. The total result is the highest result ever in Sweden.
Class 125 (weight 110.1)
Squat: 310, Benchpress: 160 Deadlift: 275. Total: 745.
2008 was my first year as a junior. I won the Swedish junior-championships with the great result 840 kg (325+205+310). In march I did a very bad competition (the result was bad) at the European junior-championship in Ukraine, total 780… But the positive part was that I got a silver medal!
2009 was an fantastic year for me. I reached one of my biggest goals ever, to win the european championships in Sweden in my home-club JSK, with the total of 885 kg.
In the summer I had a long time with basic training so I could increase my RAW strength. I made an huge increase in benchpress, from 175 kg (2008) to 200 kg (2009). The best part was that I had not been training 1 under the whole period, i just had trained 3 reps. The last session I tried my max, and made it up to 200kg, this is an magical line to pass!
In the autumn I had my last competition for the year, and the goal was to reach at least 900 kg, and I made it: 352,5-230-317,5. My capacity that day was 930... It will come next year!
About my club Jönköpings styrkelyftarklubb and my trainer Krister Ståhlberg:
I joined JSK on the summer year 2006. JSK is the larges club in Sweden. We have the most Sub-juniors and juniors in Sweden. We have some off the world's best juniors, like Kristine Almroth, Magnus Önerud and I (those are just some of the names…).
Our website is the larges powerlifting website in Sweden with many visitors. Björn Stolphammar is the web-master; he is also the heart of JSK. He keeps the club together and spends very much time at the club, helping us. He trains also, like a veteran. He helped me in the beginning, but after that he published the facts about me on the website, how strong I was and so on, a man named Krister Ståhlberg saw it and god interested!
Me and Krister took contact and he told me that he could be my trainer (but on distance, from Finland). He would travel to Sweden some times, and to all my competitions. He had been training young people since 28(?) years back in time. He had very much experience. We started a training-relationship in autumn 2006.
Krister has been making all my training-programs since that. It has worked outstanding, I have developed much more than he thought form the beginning, and that’s positive. He has told me this many times: “I have never seen, in my 30 years with powerlifting”, a person that has so huge (talent, ability, gift) for strength and powerlift as you” that means very much for me.
